Robert (verified owner) –
Five stars (considering the price on sale). I didn’t plan on buying it but once on sale for $52 I’m glad I did. It’s very basic, but a good size and light at 4.82oz. Blade length, from the handle, is just over 4-3/8″. Blade width .1385″. The handle is a bit narrow at .730″ at the fattest point (pix of this on the Buck site). For a smaller-ish light knife I prefer a thin handle so no complaints. The jimping, which I don’t want on any knife, is weird imo. There is none where you would want it, assuming you like jimping. Since I don’t, it works out for me, but the rest of the jimping is a bit of an eye sore for me.
It wasn’t sharp like most Bucks, so I’ll have to clean that up.
The sheath is nice looking and compact, with a plastic liner and the knife stops in that liner via the blades tip. Not sure how I feel about that?
It certainly won’t be a favorite, or pride of my collection, but rather something that I can keep in the glove box, tackle box etc. A second knife for the trail, or to loan to that buddy who forgets his and not have to worry so much about it. So imo it certainly has its place. I’m very much a fan of Bucks 420HC, which is strangely impressive. Had it not been for that steel I would’ve bought some other brand. So I get a good blade for about as cheap as you can get. Might even buy another, which is sayin something.
