I really like this knife: just like my old 110, but a lot lighter. Aligned blade, no wobble, fit and finish looks perfect. Almost (not quite) too pretty to use.

I was about to purchase a 110LT when I stumbled across the 110 Aluminum. This is the knife I always wanted. Lightweight, strong and a traditional looking 110. The blade has no play in it, but I gave it only 4 stars due to the grit and grime in the knife that made it tough to open and close. The lock back needed to be depressed very hard to close the knife. After applying a bunch of sewing machine oil and blowing out the black gunk that was built up in the knife I got it to loosen up. I opened and closed it a bunch of times to break it in and it seems to be working well at this time. Overall it’s a great knife that is perfectly light enough for everyday carry. Buck has a winner with this one.

With great anticipation, I opened the mailbox and there it was.All wrapped up safe and sound. I’ll cut right to the chase, it’s a beaut and soooo light! Oh and shiny. The aluminum frame was buffed to a mirror polish. Ooops and sharp. I did give myself a tiny nick so be very careful when playing with it. The black Micarta scales are held down with four concave pins and that familiar ‘110’ blade locks up tight. All in all a must have knife. Sitting here right now in its black leather sheath.

Highly polished bolsters and Micarta – flawless.

Bolsters bright and Micarta very black.

I love the 117, and had to have it because it’s basically a mini-119, as is the sheath. I also have a wood version now.
Note how much better the guard looks compared to a 119. At least to me because the 119, 120 and especially 124 guards are too long. It’s easy to make those look like this, btw, which I do. Power sand to rough shape, Dremel sanding disks to clean it up and dial in the shape, then Dremel buff with White compound and you can’t tell it was not from the factory.
